    i just bought this but im pretty confused by it. how exactly do you add compression? what you did in the video did not compress it. i assumed there would be a central divider so that i can roll each end tightly toward the middle, but thats not possible with this design, because stuffing your clothes to the end of either side would block being able to stuff the opposite end. would love to see a video show an example of this actually being used and compressed down tightly.

    Put "initially proposed 9c/5.15d by Alex Megos but graded 9b+ by Stephano Ghisolfi" in the description, and put "(Bibliography 9b+/5.15c)" in the title and you'll get another 100k views in a couple months. The higher grades are better for SEO and Stefano is making noise with Silence right now so that will help. On my other RUclips channel i did a total troll video with V17 in the title and i got 76k views with double digit subscribers.

    Is lowering on a overhand safe? I’ve always been told that a figure 8 is the best and safest knot to go with, not saying this is wrong, just curious.

    • @polarfoxbrrr3910
      @polarfoxbrrr3910 3 часа назад

      It’s save for lowering someone down. Biggest difference is how hard it is to open the knot again after lowering down. The figure 8 is much easier to untie than the overhand.

    Fail: 2 or more pieces, minimum. You don't unhook the line until another line/runner to the harness is attached. + the end of your figure 8 knot is too short. 8 " minimum. But, I'm sure that AMGA covered all that. Good luck k.

    That idea of clipping a carabiner through the knot to make it easier to undo seems a bit suss. If one leg of that anchor fails, you'll be hanging from that knot. Do you really want a carabiner in there preventing it from tightening 😬

    For climbs where you're bring a PAS, how do you like to rack it? I don't want it getting in the way of my pro, but I also don't want it hanging down to my knees. I typically put it on my back-right gear loop and shorten it about half way by putting the middle loop through the carabiner on the end, but would love to hear what others have found that works well from them.

    As someone learning the differences between Munter and clove hitches, I wish she’d explained that the hitch she was initially attached to her anchor with is a clove and not a Munter. As she says “it allows me to extend myself away from the anchor” at 0:30, she seems to be adjusting her *clove,* not the Munter, which is really confusing.

    • @joemignano
      @joemignano 3 месяца назад

      …or if the initial hitch is also a Munter, I wish she’d explicitly mentioned and explained that 😓

    • @borisdatzar
      @borisdatzar Месяц назад

      The point she is making is when belaying with a munter you can be further away from the anchor if you want. For eg if you you are using a grigri and want to lower someone you need to pull the grigri lever and so need to be close to the anchor where the grigri is attached. How you get further away from the anchor when you are tied in, is not explained at all, and is obviously nothing to do with the munter: you can't tie in with a munter to an anchor. So yes she is using a clove hitch for that, but that's not the purpose of the video.

    Would it have been a good idea for Lindsey to stay clipped into the anchor as well at 7:02 mark when you started your rappel? That way she also had a backup or at least used a 'third hand' on the line?
